Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision yesterday in Hillsborough County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a Kawasaki Ninja operated by a 24-year-old Wesley Chapel man was traveling northbound on US-301, north of Dead River Road.
While passing other traffic on a wet roadway, the rider lost control, overturned, and traveled off the roadway.
Once on the shoulder, the rider collided with a roadway sign and suffered fatal injuries.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist involved in the crash.
