Breaking News Overnight: Motorcyclist dies after a collision with minivan in Pinellas County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Pinellas County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:40 pm, a Honda CBR sportbike, operated by a 19-year-old Holiday man, was traveling northbound on US-19. 

At the same time, a Chrysler Pacifica, driven by an 85-year-old Palm Harbor man, was traveling southbound on US-19. 

At the intersection of Highland Lakes Boulevard, the van turned left into the path and was struck by the motorcycle. 

Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later expired from injuries suffered during the crash. 

The driver of the van suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

 The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist or minivan driver involved in the collision.
