Breaking News Overnight: Pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle in Manatee County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle last night in Manatee County.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:12 pm, a sedan driven by a 16-year-old male from Bradenton was traveling east on the inside lane of State Road 70, west of Braden Run.

At the same time, a 39-year-old Bradenton man was walking from the north to the south across the eastbound lanes of State Road 70, west of Braden Run.

As it approached, the front of the vehicle collided with the pedestrian, and he was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the name of the driver or the pedestrian involved in the crash.
