Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Lake County this morning that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:20 am, a 1994 Chevy Blazer driven by a 62-year-old Groveland woman was traveling eastbound on AG Road west of Brantley Road.
For an unknown reason, the driver veered off the roadway to the right and struck a tree. Due to the impact, the vehicle caught fire.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the deceased driver.
