Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision last night in Citrus County that resulted in the death of a bicyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a Dodge Ram driven by a 30-year-old Crystal River man was traveling northbound on West Homosassa Trail.
At the same time, a 59-year-old Homosassa woman was riding a bicycle northbound on West Homosassa Trail ahead of the pickup truck.
As they approached, the pickup overtook and collided with the bicyclist just south of South Regal Lilly Way.
The bicyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or bicyclist involved in the collision.
