Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a golf cart this morning in Marion County.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a 93-year-old Ocala woman driving a golf cart, was traveling westbound in the eastbound multimodal path on SW 94th Street.
At the same time, an 84-year-old Ocala man was walking westbound in the eastbound multimodal path on SW 94th Street.
As it approached, the golf cart struck the pedestrian from the rear.
Marion County Fire Rescue pronounced the pedestrian deceased on the scene.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver or the pedestrian.
