Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Charlotte County last night, resulting in a motorcyclist's death.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9 pm, a 47-year-old Punta Gorda man riding a motorcycle was traveling south on CR-765 (Burnt Store Road), on the outside lane, approaching Shotgun Road.
For an unknown reason, the motorcycle traveled left off the road, entered the median, collided with a culvert, and overturned.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist involved in the crash.
