Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Collier County this morning that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:42 am, a 63-year-old Immokalee woman driving a sport utility vehicle was traveling west on State Road 82, south of Corkscrew Road.
At the same time, a 27-year-old Immokalee man driving a sedan was traveling west on State Road 82 behind the first vehicle.
As the two vehicles approached, a 21-year-old Immokalee woman was walking west on the westbound lane of State Road 82, and the front of the SUV collided with her. After the collision, the sedan also collided with the pedestrian, who was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or the pedestrian involved in the crash.
