Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Hernando County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:10 p.m., a Nissan Altima driven by a 22-year-old Spring Hill man was traveling northbound on Deltona Boulevard at a high rate of speed.
North of Regatta Circle, the driver failed to negotiate a curve.
The vehicle departed the roadway and rotated until impacting a vacant residence at 4434 Deltona Boulevard.
Transported to an area hospital, the driver later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the crash.
