Updating Breaking News: Three-vehicle collision in Lee County kills motorcyclist

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision yesterday in Lee County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:17 pm, a sedan driven by a 28-year-old North Fort Myers woman was traveling west on Evergreen Road, approaching US-41.
At the same time, a 70-year-old North Fort Myers man riding a motorcycle was traveling north on US-41, approaching Evergreen Road, and a sedan driven by a 55-year-old Fort Myers man traveling south on US-41, approaching Evergreen Road.
As they approached, the first vehicle entered the northbound lanes of US 41 in front of the approaching motorcycle, and they collided. After the crash, the first vehicle veered across the southbound lanes of US 41 and collided with the third vehicle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The first vehicle's driver reported minor injuries to the FHP, while the third driver reported no injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names the drivers or motorcyclist involved in the crash.
