Updating Breaking News: Pedestrian hit and killed by SUV in Pasco County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision this morning in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:35 p.m., a Ford Escape sport utility vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Port Richey woman was traveling eastbound on Embassy Boulevard.
At the intersection of Barrington Lane, a 74-year-old Port Richey man was walking south across the roadway when he entered the path and was struck by the SUV.
Transported to an area hospital, the pedestrian later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver or pedestrian involved in the collision.
