Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle last night in Hernando County that resulted in the death of the pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:20 p.m., a BMW M3 driven by a 27-year-old Spring Hill woman was traveling eastbound on Cortez Boulevard.
West of Weeping Willow Street, a 60-year-old man from Columbus, Indiana, crossing the highway, was struck by the vehicle.
Transported to an area hospital, the pedestrian later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or pedestrian involved in the crash.
