Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Hernando County that resulted in the death of a driver and injuries to two others.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:20 pm, a Honda Odyssey, driven by a 35-year-old Weeki Wachee man, was traveling northbound on Sunshine Grove Road.
At the same time, a Nissan SUV driven by a 41-year-old Spring Hill woman was traveling southbound on Sunshine Grove Road.
North of Moon Road, the first vehicle entered the path of the second vehicle, where the two vehicles collided nearly head-on.
The driver of the second vehicle suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the first vehicle and a passenger, a 19-year-old woman from Spring Hill, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the crash.
