Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Hernando County that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:38 pm, a Nissan Rogue, driven by a 62-year-old Spring Hill woman, was traveling westbound on Augustine Road.
At the same time, a Tesla Model 3, driven by a 38-year-old Spring Hill man, was traveling northbound on Landover Boulevard.
At the intersection of the two roadways, the first driver failed to yield, resulting in the front of the second vehicle colliding with the left side of the first vehicle.
After the crash, both vehicles rotated to final rest along the west and east shoulders of Landover Boulevard, respectively.
Transported to an area hospital, the first driver later died from injuries suffered during the crash, while the second driver suffered minor injuries.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the crash.
