Updating Breaking News: One dead, four seriously injured after two-vehicle collision in Pasco County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a driver and serious injuries to four others.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:24 pm, a Kia Forte, driven by a 38-year-old Hudson woman, was traveling eastbound on SR-52.

At the same time, a tractor-trailer, driven by a 41-year-old Port Richey man, was traveling westbound on SR-52.

At the intersection of Prospect Road, the first vehicle turned left under a flashing yellow turn signal into the path and was struck by the second vehicle.

Transported to an area hospital, the driver of the first vehicle later expired from injuries suffered during the crash.

Three female passengers and daughters of the driver, aged 16, 14, and 13, were all transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was also transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
