Updating Breaking News: One dead, four injured after a three-vehicle collision in Flagler County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision yesterday in Flagler County that resulted in the death of a passenger and injuries to four others.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:43 am, a 49-year-old Bunnell man driving a pickup truck was traveling westbound on State Road 100. At the same time, a 59-year-old Daytona Beach woman driving a sedan and a 22-year-old Altamonte Springs woman driving a sport utility vehicle was traveling eastbound on SR-100.

As they approached, the sedan crossed the center line of the two-lane road and sideswiped the pickup, which lost control and crossed the center line into the SUV's path and collided head-on.

After the collision, the pickup overturned, while the SUV came to rest in a ditch. The sedan came to a controlled stop.

According to the FHP report, a passenger (a 24-year-old Bunnell woman) suffered fatal injuries, while two others suffered serious injuries, and two others reported minor injuries.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
