Updating Breaking News: Two-vehicle collision in Levy County injures three

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision Wednesday in Levy County that resulted in three injuries.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:12 pm, a Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by a 53-year-old Trenton woman, was traveling north on CR-345.

At the same time, a Lexus ES300, driven by a 61-year-old Gainesville man, was traveling south on CR-345.

The first vehicle passed another vehicle traveling north.

Upon re-entering the northbound lane, the first vehicle's driver lost control, crossed the center line, traveled into the southbound lane, and collided with the second vehicle.

Following impact, the first vehicle rotated counterclockwise and overturned onto its right side, coming to final rest on the east shoulder of CR 345.

The second vehicle came to final rest on the west shoulder of CR-345.

The two drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The passenger in the first vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.  

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or the passenger involved in the crash.
