Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision Monday in Hillsborough County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist and a passenger.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:38 pm, a Toyota Avalon, driven by a 40-year-old Riverview woman, was traveling northbound on Windermere Oak Lane.
At the same time, a Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by a 31-year-old Riverview man, was traveling eastbound on Causeway Boulevard.
At the intersection of the two roadways, the first vehicle turned left into the motorcycle's path and was struck by it.
The driver of the first vehicle was not injured during the event; however, the motorcyclist and his passenger, a 33-year-old Brandon woman, both suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the names of the people involved in the collision.
