Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 4:09 p.m., a Nissan Altima, driven by an 85-year-old Hudson woman, was traveling northbound on US-19. 

At the same time, a Yamaha motorcycle, operated by a 27-year-old Port Richey man, was traveling southbound on US-19. 

At the intersection of Beach Boulevard, despite a red traffic signal, the first vehicle completed a U-turn into the path of the motorcycle and was struck by it.
