Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in Pinellas County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. According to the FHP, a GMC Sierra driven by a 16-year-old Clearwater male turned left into the path of a southbound Honda motorcycle on US-19 south of Alderman Road. The 52-year-old motorcyclist from Holiday was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, while the truck driver reported no injuries.

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Pinellas County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:40 pm, a GMC Sierra, driven by a 16-year-old male from Clearwater, was traveling northbound on US-19. 

At the same time, a Honda motorcycle, operated by a 52-year-old Holiday man, was traveling southbound on US-19. 

South of Alderman Road, the first vehicle turned left into the motorcycle's path and was struck.  

Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later died from injuries suffered during the crash. The driver of the first vehicle reported no injuries to the FHP.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the collision.
