Updating Breaking News: Motorcyclist dies after a two-vehicle collision in Charlotte County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Charlotte County yesterday, resulting in a motorcyclist's death.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 2:57 pm, a 66-year-old Lancaster, PA man driving a sport utility vehicle stopped on Gasparilla Road in the left turn lane, north of Keystone Boulevard.
At the same time, a 42-year-old Port Charlotte man riding a motorcycle was traveling north on Gasparilla Road, south of Keystone Boulevard.
As they approached, the SUV failed to yield to traffic while making a left turn and collided with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries, was transported to an area hospital, and was later pronounced deceased.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the deceased motorcyclist involved in the crash.
