Updating Breaking News: Driver dies in single-vehicle collision in Charlotte County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Charlotte County this morning, resulting in the driver's death.
According to the FHP report, a 45-year-old man from Cape Coral driving a pickup truck was traveling south on County Road 765 (Burnt Store Road) in the left lane. For an unknown reason, the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle and traveled off the roadway right, rotated, collided with a light pole, overturned and collided with a tree.
The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the deceased driver involved in the crash.
