Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a bicyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:02 am, a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, driven by a 29-year-old Zephyrhills man, was traveling eastbound on Chancey Road.
At the same time, a bicycle, operated by a 40-year-old Zephyrhills man, was traveling westbound on Chancey Road in the eastbound lane.
Just west of Zephyr Preserve Place, the Silverado collided with the bicycle.
The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured during the incident.
The bicyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries suffered during the collision.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or bicyclist involved in the collision.
