Highway shooting in Hillsborough County leaves teenage girl injured

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to a shooting in Hillsborough County on Friday that resulted in a teenage girl sustaining a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
According to a FHP media alert, at approximately 10:40pm on April 28th, a 37-year-old Tampa man was traveling westbound on Interstate 4 near Branch Forbes Road with his 14-year-old daughter.
For unknown reasons, the passenger side of their 2017 Volkswagen Jetta was struck by two bullets, one of which penetrated the car and struck the daughter's leg. The girl was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.
Currently there is no suspect description. The FHP is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call *FHP or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
