Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Hernando County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:30 pm, a mini dirt bike, operated by a 19-year-old Spring Hill man, was traveling northbound on Deltona Boulevard with no lights.
At the same time, a Chevy Avalanche, driven by a 51-year-old Spring Hill woman, was traveling southbound on Deltona Boulevard.
At Loretto Street, the second vehicle turned left into the path of the dirt bike and was struck by it.
Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or motorcyclist involved in the crash.
