From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a driver and passenger.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 7 pm, a Dodge Ram pickup, driven by a 27-year-old Port Richey man, was traveling southbound on Little Road at a high rate of speed.
At the same time, a Toyota 4-Runner was traveling northbound on Little Road.
At the intersection of San Miguel Drive, the second vehicle turned left into the path and was struck by the first vehicle.
After the initial collision, the second vehicle overturned and caught fire
The first driver, as well as a passenger traveling in the second vehicle, suffered serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals. The second driver and another passenger traveling in the second vehicle sustained fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The occupants of the second vehicle have yet to be identified.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
