Breaking News Overnight: Single-vehicle collision in Columbia County kills two

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash in Columbia County last night that resulted in the death of the driver and a passenger.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:10 pm Friday, a semi tractor-trailer driven by a 50-year-old Miramar man was traveling north on Interstate 75, exited the roadway towards the right and entered the east grass shoulder. The tractor-trailer struck several large trees where the cab section overturned onto its right side and the trailer section remained upright.
The driver and passenger (a 57-year-old Miramar man) were pronounced deceased on the scene by Columbia County Fire and Rescue.
There were no roadway obstructions.
The crash remains under investigation.
FHP did not release the names of the driver or passenger involved in the collision.
