Breaking News Overnight: Pedestrian hit and killed by vehicle in Hillsborough County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision last night in Hillsborough County that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:25 p.m., a Ford Mustang driven by a 44-year-old Ruskin man was traveling southbound on US-41.
At the intersection of Symmes Road, the vehicle continued under a green traffic signal and collided with a female pedestrian walking across the north side of the intersection.
Transported to an area hospital, the 57-year-old Valrico woman later expired from her injuries.
The FHP did not release the names of the driver or pedestrian involved in the collision.
