Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:16 p.m., a Ford Escape sport utility vehicle, driven by a 75-year-old Zephyrhills man, was traveling eastbound on CR-54.
West of Massey Road, a 33-year-old Zephyrhills man who was walking along the shoulder of the roadway before attempting to cross it entered the path of the SUV and was struck by it.
Transported to an area hospital, the pedestrian later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the names of the motorcyclist, passenger, or pedestrian involved in the collision.
