Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision this morning in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a passenger.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:50 a.m., a Toyota Camry driven by a 30-year-old Tampa man was traveling southbound on Interstate 75.
South of SR-52, the driver overtook another vehicle and took evasive action to avoid a collision. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which rotated to the highway shoulder and struck a tree.
Upon impact, a 28-year-old Tampa woman traveling as a passenger in the vehicle suffered fatal injuries.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
