Breaking News Overnight: One dead, one injured after a two-vehicle collision in Pasco County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:02 pm, a Ford Focus, driven by a 36-year-old New Port Richey man, was traveling southbound on Little Road. 

At the same time, a Nissan Xterra, driven by a 27-year-old Tampa man, was traveling northbound on Little Road. 

At the intersection of Heritage Lakes Boulevard, the first vehicle turned left into the path and was struck by the second vehicle. 

The driver of the second vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. 

The driver of the first vehicle was transported to an area hospital and later expired from injuries suffered during the crash. 

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
