Posted

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 62-year-old Hudson man was traveling eastbound on SR-52 in the center lane.

West of Pine Forest Drive, the motorcycle came upon and collided with a Chrysler PT Cruiser that was disabled from a prior crash involving a Hyundai sedan driven by a 46-year-old Miami woman.

The motorcycle then became airborne and traveled into the inside lane, where he was struck by a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 16-year-old Hudson male, who was also traveling eastbound on SR-52.

The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, while the other two drivers suffered only minor injuries and were not transported.

The Miami woman was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, Kathleen Ann Horner, 67, of New Port Richey, was later arrested by FHP Troopers for DUI and transported to the Pasco County Jail, where she provided a breath sample of 0.166.

The FHP did not release the motorcyclist or the other drivers' names involved in the collision.
