Breaking News Overnight: Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle collision in Charlotte County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Charlotte County last night, resulting in a motorcyclist's death.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:09 pm Tuesday, a 42-year-old Port Charlotte man riding a motorcycle was southbound on State Road 776, approaching Sailors Way.
As it approached, the motorcycle veered off the roadway right, entered the shoulder, and collided with a light pole.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the deceased motorcyclist involved in the crash.
