Breaking News Overnight: Motorcyclist dies in three-vehicle collision on I-75 in Alachua County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision this morning in Alachua County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:22 am, a 42-year-old Gainesville woman driving a sedan was traveling north on Interstate 75 when it struck a motorcycle driven by a St. Cloud man traveling north in front of it, ejecting the driver off the motorcycle onto the roadway.
The sedan continued traveling north for approximately 1,500 feet with the motorcycle entrapped under it, coming to rest on the east shoulder.
A third vehicle, a semi-truck driven by a 42-year-old Locust Grove, GA man, struck road debris from the crash.
According to the report, the motorcyclist died in the crash. The other two drivers did not report any injuries to the FHP.
The FHP did not release the names of the motorcyclist or the drivers involved in the crash.
