Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision this morning in Hernando County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by a 40-year-old Wesley Chapel man was traveling northbound on Mariner Boulevard.
At the same time, a Mercedes CLK320 driven by a 28-year-old Tampa man was traveling southbound on Mariner Boulevard, and a Nissan Altima, driven by a 20-year-old Weeki Wachee woman, was traveling northbound on Mariner Boulevard behind the motorcycle.
At the intersection of Landover Boulevard, the motorcyclist turned left into the path of the Mercedes and was struck by it.
After the impact, the motorcycle was propelled back into the northbound lanes, colliding with the Nissan.
The motorcycle rider suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
No injuries were reported to the FHP by the other drivers.
The FHP did not release the drivers' names involved in the collision.
