Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Hillsborough County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:40 pm, a Volvo V70, driven by a 51-year-old Plant City woman, was traveling southbound on SR-39.
At the same time, a Yamaha motorcycle, operated by a 57-year-old Plant City man, was traveling southbound ahead of the Volvo.
North of Holloway Road, traffic came to a stop, as did the motorcycle, but the Volvo failed to stop and collided with the motorcyclist.
Transported to an area hospital, the motorcyclist later died from injuries suffered during the collision.
The FHP did not release the names of the motorcyclist or the driver involved in the crash.
