Breaking News Overnight: Two injured after vehicle slams into Sheriff's patrol vehicle in Pasco County

Posted

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in injuries to a PCSO Deputy.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:15 p.m., a marked Pasco County Sheriff's Office Chevy Tahoe was traveling northbound on Collier Parkway in emergency mode.

At the intersection of SR-54, the Deputy slowed and began clearing the intersection.

While other traffic stopped for the emergency vehicle, a Lexus sedan driven by a 56-year-old Lutz man traveling westbound on SR-54 failed to stop and collided with the patrol vehicle.

The impact caused the patrol vehicle to overturn, slide into the southbound lanes of Collier Parkway, and collide with a Chevy pickup truck driven by a 37-year-old Land O' Lakes man.

The Deputy and driver of the first vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the collision.

This is breaking news and may be updated if more details are known.
