A 30-year-old New Port Richey man died after his motorcycle struck an SUV crossing the roadway early Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 30-year-old New Port Richey man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning on Trouble Creek Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:50 am. near Whitetail Lane and Spike Horn Drive.
According to FHP, a 61-year-old New Port Richey woman driving a Kia Sorento was stopped at a stop sign on Whitetail Lane at Trouble Creek Road.
At the same time, the motorcyclist was traveling west on Trouble Creek Road aboard a Suzuki motorcycle and approaching Spike Horn Drive.
The Kia driver began traveling north across Trouble Creek Road through a median opening and entered the motorcycle’s path, investigators said. The motorcycle then struck the SUV.
The rider suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.
FHP did not provide additional information about the SUV driver’s condition.
