According to the FHP report, at approximately 7:09 pm, a Suzuki motorcycle, operated by a 71-year-old Zephyrhills man, was traveling eastbound on Otis Allen Road.
At the same time, a Lincoln SUV, driven by a 47-year-old Ridge Manor woman, was traveling westbound on Otis Allen Road.
West of Old Lakeland Highway, the motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the centerline, and collided with the SUV nearly head-on.
The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, while the SUV driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The FHP did not release the names of the people involved in the crash.
