Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Lee County that resulted in the death of a moped driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 10:28 p.m., a 38-year-old Fort Myers woman driving a sport utility vehicle was traveling east on County Road 867A (Cape Coral Bridge) in the right lane.
At the same time, a Moped driven by a 39-year-old Ft. Myers man was traveling east on County Road 867A directly in front of the SUV.
As they approached, The front of the SUV collided with the rear of the Moped.
After the crash, the Moped driver became separated from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the crash.
