Breaking News Overnight: Driver dies after single-vehicle collision in Brevard County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision last night in Brevard County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:52 pm, a 2008 Toyota RAV-4 driven by a 26-year-old Indian Harbor Beach man was traveling northbound on Pineda Boulevard, approaching the intersection of Wickham Road.
For an unknown reason, the SUV ran off the road in a northerly direction, across Wickham Road, onto the grass shoulder.
As a result, the front of the vehicle collided with a grass embankment and continued to travel north into a pond and submerged.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver.
