From the Florida Highway Patrol
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 8:23 pm, a Chevy Trailblazer, driven by a 26-year-old Dade City man, was traveling southbound on Lane Road.
North of April Lane, the unrestrained driver lost control of the vehicle, departed the roadway and collided with a tree, then a utility pole.
Transported to an area hospital, the driver later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the collision.
