Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision last night in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a bicyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9 pm, a Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 73-year-old Dade City man, was traveling northbound on US-301.
South of Ruth Avenue, the vehicle overtook and collided with an unidentified adult male riding a bicycle with no lights in the travel lanes for an unknown reason.
The bicyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver or bicyclist involved in the collision.
