A 68-year-old Tampa man died after he was struck by a car while attempting to cross U.S. 92 late Thursday night in Hillsborough County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:20 pm on U.S. 92 west of Orient Road.
According to FHP, a 23-year-old Tallahassee man was driving a Honda sedan eastbound on U.S. 92 when the bicyclist attempted to cross the highway.
Troopers said the bicyclist entered the path of the Honda and was struck.
The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The Honda driver was not reported to have been injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
