Breaking Morning News: Pedestrian hit and killed by pickup truck in Pasco County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision this morning in Pasco County that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:45 am, a Ford F150, driven by a 70-year-old Inglis man, was traveling northbound on US-19 approaching the intersection of Scenic Drive. 

At the same time, a 55-year-old Port Richey woman was walking eastbound across the northbound lanes of US-19, south of the crosswalk. 

The pedestrian walked into the path and was struck by the vehicle. 

Suffering serious injuries, the pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, where she later died. 

The driver reported no injuries to the FHP.

The FHP did not release the name of the driver or the pedestrian involved in the collision.
