Breaking Morning News: Motor-scooter driver dies after collision with truck in Clay County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision in Clay County this morning that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:06 am a Dodge Ram work truck driven by a 56-year-old Green Cove Springs man was traveling southbound on County Road 209.
At the same time a motorized scooter driven by a 35-year-old Jacksonville man was traveling northbound on County Road 209.
As they approached, the work truck made a left turn in front of the scooter causing a collision.
The rider of the scooter was transported to Orange Park Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. The truck driver reported no injuries to the FHP.
This crash is still under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in this collision.
