Breaking Morning News: Golf cart operator hit and killed by van in Hillsborough County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision this morning in Hillsborough County that resulted in the death of a golf cart operator.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 8 a.m., a Ram Pro Master van driven by a 31-year-old Tampa man was traveling eastbound on SR-674. 

At the same time, a Yamaha golf cart, operated by a 71-year-old Sun City Center woman, was traveling northbound on Pebble Beach Boulevard. 

At the intersection of the two roadways, the van failed to stop for a red traffic signal and collided with the golf cart, which was traversing the intersection under a green traffic signal. 

The van driver suffered no injury. The golf cart operator was transported to an area hospital and later died from injuries suffered during the crash. 

The FHP did not release the names of the driver or operator involved in the collision.
