A 30-year-old Orlando man was killed early Friday morning after losing control of his SUV on Ayers Road in Hernando County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 6:30 am. Friday on Ayers Road, west of Prosperity Lane.
According to FHP, the man was driving an eastbound Toyota 4Runner when he lost control of the vehicle for reasons that remain under investigation. The SUV left the roadway, struck a fence, and continued into an adjacent cow pasture.
The vehicle overturned several times before coming to rest in the pasture.
The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no additional injuries were reported.
The Florida Highway Patrol has not released the driver's identity pending notification of next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
