Breaking Morning News: 85-year-old Bradenton woman hit and killed by SUV in Manatee County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian hit and killed by a sport utility vehicle this morning in Manatee County.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 5:30 am, a Hyundai Sonata sport utility vehicle driven by a 60-year-old Bradenton woman was traveling west on Woodlawn Drive approaching Wildwood Springs Boulevard.

At the same time, an 85-year-old Bradenton woman had fallen within the roadway of Wildwood Springs Blvd.

As it approached, the SUV turned right onto Wildwood Springs Blvd., striking the woman. 

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene by Manatee County EMS.

The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate this Fatal traffic crash. .........

At the same time, an unidentified woman was walking easterly from the west side of 9th Street East.

The FHP did not release the name of the pedestrian or driver involved in the crash.
