A 40-year-old Tampa man was killed Sunday afternoon after losing control of a tractor-trailer on State Road 91, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:10 pm near mile marker 306.5.
FHP reported that the tractor-trailer was traveling south when the driver lost control for an unknown reason. The vehicle left the roadway, entered the shoulder, and struck a guardrail before colliding with several trees.
The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. FHP did not release his name.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the crash.
